Not worth fixing unless under warranty, then they will fix or just give you a new one. Shame really, this happens a lot. 17″ just too cheap now.

Taiwan was a part of China's Ming Dynasty (1368~1644), and Qing Dynasty (1644~1912). Then Republic of China(1912~today still on Taiwan).
Read up the history. Taiwan was always a part of China. Taiwan's official name is Republic of China. And their Constitution claim ALL of China.
Current situation was caused by a civil war (1945~1949). With the old government lost everything but Taiwan. Due to the intervene from the anti-communist USA, Taiwan was placed under U.S. "protection" as another stronghold to blockade mainland China(or rather…"contain" the communists) since it is in the middle of China's east coast. It is a strategic location. Can easily cut off the shipping lane from south to north. Also it is in possible to launch anything into the population centers on China's east and south coast.
IN FACT, during the early days right after the civil war(1950s~1960s), warplanes (made in U.S., piloted by nationalist Chinese pilots) launched from Taiwan were constantly bombing power plants, water plants, etc. in large cities on China's east coast. Due to the communist on mainland had limited sea and air power. They were unable to stop it for decades until they were able to develop anti-air missiles and created a huge air force.
I know, the U.S. tried to trick dumb people to think it is the right thing to side with Taiwan because it is a "democracy" "country". Yeah right, Taiwan was never a country of its own, and Taiwan never had a voting system until 1996. Jiang kai Shek ruled until he died of old age, then his oldest son took over and ruled until he died of old age as well. More like kingship. It was a military dictatorship from the start! Yet the U.S. supported them even before they were defeated in Chinese civil war.
The U.S. has no right to intervene from the start.
And all the ignorant people should read up the real history instead of U.S. propaganda.
That computer has the onboard Sis Mirage 3 graphics. Once a dedicated video or graphics card is installed on the vacant x16 PCIe slot, the onboard video is automatically disabled.
OR you could just reset CMOS. With PC unplugged, reset using the CMOS jumper pin switch on motherboard OR simply by removing CMOS battery (looks like a silver coin) for at least 30 sec. Then power ON PC. Press Del or F1 to open BIOS menu. Load fail-safe defaults, save and exit. PC should start normally using the dedicated video card..
Hi, here's what you can do:
- View this image and identify your chinese characters
- read the Taiwanese date, backwards, starting from 5th character. The "+" character is the multiplier of 10 of the 5th character. The last character is not a number but means year, a noun.
- Finally add the chinese year to 1911. That was when the Republic of China started.
Update:
Yes, if the fifth character is 7, next is 10 and next is 7, then you have year 77 of the Republic of China. The last character is the character for "year", not 1000 although both look almost identical. Plus 77 to 1911 and the year is AD1988. For your extra info, the first 4 characters mean "Republic of China".

With the exception that this is MSR and that’s a different beast. In general they do clever work and they’re not in it for the money, at least for the short term (not talking of the life science side per se, but MSR as a whole)
