Do I Need An Adapter To Hook A Dell External 17 Inch Monitor To A Dell Inspiron Mini 12?

You don't need an adapter.
Your Inspiron mini12 has a VGA port on the left side. Just connect it to a monitor using a standard VGA monitor cable (as far as I know, all Dell 17-inch monitors have VGA inputs).

Its probably being overheated. Make sure that your laptop is on a hard surface, and in an open space while you are using it so that it has enough space for air ventillation. If thats not the problem then get your laptop fan checked.

Janesville Little Theatre presents the classic “Harvey”. Elwood P. Dowd is a middle-aged, amiable (and somewhat eccentric) individual whose best friend is an invisible six-foot, three-and-one-half-inch tall rabbit named Harvey. As described by Dowd, Harvey is a pooka, a benign but mischievous creature from Celtic mythology who is especially fond of social outcasts. Elwood has driven his sister and niece (who live with him and crave normality and a place in ’society’) to distraction by introducing everyone he meets to his friend, Harvey. His family seems to be unsure whether Dowd’s obsession with Harvey is a product of his (admitted) propensity to drink or perhaps mental illness. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students.

man, i would never had thought the other slot was under the keyboard! You would think dell could have had the two slots together when building the computer. And to answer some of you, yes 4gig is the highest. Meaning 2gig modules in each slot.
I remember all that. Remember how Plug-n-Play was supposed to make all that easier, but only turned out to be more of a PITA than setting everything up manually? Wow. I haven’t thought about an IRQ or I/O in a while
If you're willing to run Windows, and you have an Expresscard 54 slot, I'd highly recommend the Creative Sound Blaster x-fi notebook card. It's incredible.
I dont bother with those cords anymore, I go SPDIF from this card to the Z-5500s. It's great.
The card also has an accessory that plugs into it so you have your standard Green/Orange/Black/Pink plugs.
Take a look, anyway. It does up to 7.1 so you're kind of futureproofing yourself.
